Gold Builders represents the knowledge and skills of Daniel Masao Gold. Here is a list of my competencies with notations and other spiffy stuff like that!
Experience framing new houses, decks, additions and roofing. Understanding of framing theory including structural properties of wood and steel in relation to general home construction. I am very competent reading blueprints as well as fabricating structures from a basic idea.
“A framer should know why the house is built that way, not just how to build it.”
Fabrication and installation of cabinets, book shelves and functional furniture (such as beds with storage etc).
“The Swedes make really nice flat pack furniture… but my stuff won’t melt if it gets wet, just saying.”
This is a big catagory to cover. Finishes include exterior siding, stucco, paint, drywall, tile, “finish” carpentry, plaster, texturing, hardwood and laminate “Snap” flooring, carpet and concrete work. Gold Builders provides quality subcontractors in Stucco, Concrete and Hardwood flooring and I personally have experience in all the rest.
Extensive experience with low voltage residential wiring. Anything from the Edison hookup down is well within my comfort zone. You don’t want to mess around with this stuff, “Good enough” is simply not.
A Handyman shines with plumbing knowledge. Nothing takes more varied experience than the plethora of plumbing fixtures and associated parts. Competent in plumbing code and theory, including supply, grey and black water plumbing. Experience installing Water reclamation systems, new and existing bathroom renovations, water purification systems and finding that damn leak.
Paint gets its own catagory. Painting is 90% knowledge and prep and 20% application and improper percentages. A good painter is patient enough to prepare the surface and skilled enough to apply the finish. It also helps to understand the difference between primer and “paint and primer in one!”™
